Dr. PJ McDonald was one of the founding board members of Core Education and a true friend to the company.

PJ McDonald was Head of School at Eagle Hill School in Hardwick MA. PJ began his career with 3M Corporation in Minnesota and New York before joining Eagle Hill School in June 1993. In 1998, he was appointed Head of School of Eagle Hill after five successful years in the Admission Office. Dr. McDonald received his bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership from Purdue University, a master’s degree in educational administration from Cambridge College, and a doctorate of education in educational policy, research, and administration from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. His dissertation, Constructing Disability: A Phenomenological Interview Study of One Student’s Experience(s) of Disability, has received national recognition for both its findings and its design.

Dr. McDonald has been published in national journals and is a frequent speaker at national conferences on education, including the National Association of Independent Schools, the Association of Boarding Schools, and the Independent Educational Consultants Association. He was a trustee at numerous for-profit and nonprofit organizations, including Lumerit Education, Country Bank, and Be Like Brit Foundation. Dr. McDonald and his wife Kathryn lived in Holden, Massachusetts, with their three children, Griffin, Reagan, and Tucker.
