Board Chair, Core Education Foundation

Ken serves as the Chairman of the Core Education Foundation as well as a member of the Core Education Foundation Advisory Council. Ken has been instrumental in the development, growth, and leadership of innovative organizations for over twenty-five years. A senior executive from the information technology industry, he has extensive experience with Fortune 500 companies as well as startups, higher education and nonprofits. 

Prior to joining Core, Ken’s career was focused on the nonprofit sector, demonstrating a commitment to educational advancement and institutional governance. At the Charles Koch Foundation, Ken led vital grant-making initiatives that partnered with a diverse range of social entrepreneurs and stakeholders in postsecondary education. His work was instrumental in cultivating strong advocates, nurturing innovative ideas and coalitions, and creating conducive environments for student success in college, their careers, and beyond.  

Prior to joining the Koch Foundation, Ken was a key member of the leadership team at the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges (AGB). There, he steered AGB’s Consulting Services organization, which comprised over 85 specialized consultants, including former trustees, university presidents, and experts. He was responsible for pioneering practice areas such as Business Model Innovation, Revenue Growth & Diversification, Risk Management and Crisis Recovery, as well as Mergers & Affiliations and Governance Best Practices. Through these experiences, Ken has clearly demonstrated a deep-rooted passion and skillset for driving transformational change in both education and organizational governance.  

Prior to his work in higher education, Ken spent nearly eight years at Microsoft, where he was Director of Public Sector Programs. Ken has a BS in Economics and an MBA from George Mason University.
