Core Celebrates International Women’s Day
Today, individuals, groups, and entire organizations have an opportunity to celebrate women’s achievements, while remaining committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day is “Embrace Equity,” which is one we can support within our own worlds and circles of influence.
Did you know? When colleges and universities were being founded in the U.S., women didn’t have access to higher education let alone leadership roles within those institutions.
From 1872 to 1972, there were a total of eight women who held the position of president or chancellor at co-ed institutions in the U.S. Since then, more than 200 women have held the top position at a co-ed college or university in the U.S.
We honor women whose work, achievements, and shoulders we stand on in higher education and throughout the world.
At Core Education, we demonstrate our support by living one of our shared values – access. We’re focused on increasing access to opportunities, while pursuing diversity, collaboration and varied perspectives. We build inclusion and belonging through fairness and intentional acts of connection.
